Mirador Javier Perez Ramos
Hello peace seeker! I'm your "Local Insider" from Canaguia.com. Today we are going to one of the most beautiful and well-kept municipalities in the north: El Sauzal. Far from the big crowds, hidden among quiet streets and gardens, you will find the Mirador Javier Pérez Ramos (Javier Pérez Ramos Viewpoint). It is an intimate corner, a silent tribute that gifts you one of the most complete postcards of the island.
A Balcony to Teide and the Sea at Javier Pérez Ramos Viewpoint
This viewpoint bears the name of a beloved local councilor, and you can feel the affection in the atmosphere. From the Mirador Javier Pérez Ramos, the view is simply perfect. To one side, you have the majestic Teide dominating the valley; in front, the immense Atlantic Ocean crashing against the Acentejo Coast; and to the west, the silhouette of Puerto de la Cruz and the north coast fading into the horizon.
It is a modern space, clean and full of flowers, ideal for sitting on a bench and letting the hours pass. Unlike other roadside viewpoints, here you breathe silence. It is the neighbors' favorite place to read, chat, or simply disconnect watching the sun sink into the sea.
Tips from Your Local Insider
El Sauzal is a gem ("una monada," as we say here), and this viewpoint is the perfect starting point:
- Postcard Sunset: If you are looking for a romantic spot without hundreds of tourists with selfie sticks, this is your place. Sunsets from Mirador Javier Pérez Ramos dye Teide pink and the sea gold.
- Walk through Los Lavaderos: Very close to here is the Parque de Los Lavaderos. It is a beautiful garden full of water springs and vegetation. Combining the viewpoint with a walk through the park is the perfect afternoon plan.
- Wine and Views: You are in wine country. A few minutes away you have the Casa del Vino de Tenerife. My recommendation: visit the viewpoint to whet your visual appetite and then go down to try a glass of local red wine on a nearby terrace.
The Javier Pérez Ramos Viewpoint is a tribute to the quiet beauty of Tenerife. A place where time seems to stop in front of the Atlantic.
