Always wanted to surf but never dared? At Kontraola, a surf school in Playa de las Américas, local instructors who know every wave in the south of Tenerife get you up on the board.
Lessons last two hours and suit all levels: 30 minutes of theory and warm-up on the sand, then 90 minutes of practice in the sea. Everything included: board, wetsuit, booties, school lycra and accident insurance. Afterwards, showers and lockers for your things.
The school is in Playa de las Américas, in Arona. In winter the waves are bigger and more powerful; in summer, gentler and perfect for beginners. And if you want a souvenir, they offer a photography service.
